New ball lasted about seven minutes. She’s got it down to a science these days.

Time to upgrade to racketballs.

You replace balls, we replace shower curtains and venetian blinds. All of them cheap ... lucky us.

I’m not saying that I won’t miss my cats when they pass.
But first thing I’m doing is buying a leather couch in memorium. For the grieving process. Yes.

Our cats show no interest at all in leather, but Vader likes cream cheese and tries to steal it. Yoda would fuck up the wire sculptures on the wall, but even he can’t jump that high.

My dog (Beagle mix) is weird. She destroys nearly any toys we give her within 20 minutes*. But she doesn’t chew up tennis balls. She loves to play fetch with them, and will carry one around with her. But she won’t actually chew them. This isn’t any kind of behavior we taught her, just how she chooses to be.
*Sometimes she gets a toy that she loves to sleep next to, but not chew apart. She’ll carry it from her bed to the sofa, to her kennel, and back again.

Your beagle has got it together in a way few humans do
Comfy couch, favorite toy. Contentment.

In many ways, I’m thoroughly jealous of how oblivious she is to the world as a whole. Just happy to have her humans around and to be able to lick herself pretty much anywhere she wants.
But I’m thankful that I can eat chocolate and drink beer, so I guess there’s definitely a trade-off.

My wife bought a bag of cheap tennis balls and we cut them all in half. Her little part-Schnauzer terrier will chase them, but decides which one he wants and only return that particular one on a given evening. We have no idea how he tells them apart.
Happy 2018.

Do you ever torment your cats with a laser pointer?

Street hockey or lacrosse balls man. I’ve even run over the street hockey balls with my lawn mower and they were still in one piece.

Nope, and the Roomba, when we had it, utterly did not faze them. Gojira doesn’t even scare them.

Nope, you don’t because you are not evil, or because the cats are uninterested by it a laser pointer?

Have never owned a laser pointer, and I would never buy one merely to torture them. And I’ve given up PowerPoint, so there is no point ....

If you really wanted to torment your cats, you could force them to watch PowerPoint presentations.
